island teriyaki

combine:
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (kikoman preferred)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1/4 tsp cracked pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
mix well.

cut 3 pounds flank steak in strips ~1/4" thick. Add to sauce; stir to coat. let stand at least 2 hours (overnight is good), lace meat on skewers, broil over hot coals until cooked.
